5 Lines

Ok I'm going to be super honest. First of all I AM trying to read all of the Metamorphoses, but things like school, work, papers, test, physical therapy.....get in the way. Second, it's late. So I am going to randomly pick a page/story/passage and those will be my five lines. I wish I could be more selective and analytical but that's life. Actually I have an idea. I'm going to make someone else unknowingly and randomly select the lines.
She pick page number 279 and starting line number 17. She choose these for no apparent reason. This is what she picked from the story of Erysichthon & Famine.:

then blights the fields already ripe with grain
and plots this punishment (her plan is one
that would stir pity if compassion were
not inappropriate for such a sin):
the goddess would have him devoured by Famine.

Wow that is random. Maybe it has something to do with this weather coming at random and being able to kill plants that are under the impression that spring is here. Or maybe it's a warning to me. Seeing as how I've been very inactive my glut could arise and become my downfall. Interesting where this passage could lead me, eh?
